Liturgy & Music
The liturgy at Blessed John's is in the Ordinariate Form of the Roman Rite. Sometimes referred to as the "Anglican Use," it is a form of the Mass in the Roman Catholic Church informed by the Anglican patrimony. The English Catholic tradition also uses Gregorian Chant, English Chant & Plainsong, with traditional English hymnody.
Blessed John's assists the needy in the Orange County directly through financial assistance to individuals and non-profits. The Knights of Columbus take a lead in directing our efforts.
During the fall through the spring of each year, we offer the following classes on Sundays at 10AM: First Communion (ages 6 years and up), Children's Confirmation (ages 7 years and up), continuing educational Sunday School classes (for children ages 8 years through 18 years) who have already received their Sacraments of Initiation, and Adult Education classes. Blessed John's has a devotional guild that coordinates these. In addition, we host Theology on Tap and Emmaus Bible Study events periodically for adults over 21 years of age, featuring speakers of different backgrounds presenting on various topics.
For older teens and adults, we offer the Evangelium Course for reception and/or Confirmation into the Catholic Church. This is also open to any adults who which to go deeper in their faith. Classes will be offered on Sundays at 10AM during the fall through the spring of each year. Learn More →
