Evangelium Course Begins

  • Blessed John Henry Newman Catholic Church 2532 Dupont Drive Irvine, CA, 92612 United States (map)

Evangelium is a course used for adult catechesis (RCIA) especially designed by Catholic converts for people with a basic understanding of Christianity who wish to go deeper. All teaching is based on the Catechism of the Catholic Church.

This is for non-Catholics who are wanting to explore Catholicism, for non-Catholics wanting to become confirmed Catholic, for fallen away Catholics who wish to revive their faith, and for Catholics who simply wish to go deeper. Non-Catholics who complete this course are eligible for confirmation at the Easter Vigil. [Non-Catholics becoming so & Catholics returning to the Church who attend King's Cross will be honored at the closing KX event in May 2017.]

Since learning and practicing the faith go hand in hand, Evangelium will occur in the context of the principle Sunday mass of the parish. So everyone who wishes to participate in this course must attend the 9AM or the 11AM Sunday mass at Bl. John's in Irvine weekly - those wishing to be confirmed Catholic through this course especially. The course begins between the two masses every Sunday (10AM) starting on September 11, 2016.

Simultaneous children's Sunday school goes on at the same hour for parents who wish to take Evangelium.
