The Benedictine Oblate Candidates will continue with Anglican Use Evening Prayer at Sandy Fryling’s home on Tuesday, March 29th, at 7 pm. Sandy's address is: 2806 E Echo Hill Way, Orange. Everyone from Bl John’s and beyond is welcome to join the Oblates in prayer (and of course consider the Oblate life!).
For the next several months, Evening Prayer will be on the last Tuesday of the month. Along with our prayer (and hopefully some chant!!), we’ll discuss of the Rule of St Benedict or another appropriate topic for Oblates, and the “work” dimension of our lives as Benedictines---the Corporal Works of Mercy---and how we might serve individually or as a community.
Our first gathering in February was wonderful! A dozen came to pray, we received Robert Garrett into the community of Oblate candidates, learned an enormous amount about Benedictine history, practice, and spirituality (thank you Fr Jack!), heard from each person a yearning in their own life for more prayer with others, and began to frame our structure as a community.
Please feel very welcome to join with us, whether the Oblate life interests or not, to pray for our own needs, those close to us, and a world in need of Christ.
